Twig on Gentoo ============== dev-vcs/twig builds the renderer and preload from the tagged Twig sources. It includes upstream's matching prebuilt Electron runtime because ::gentoo does not provide that Electron version. Native npm build tools are supplied by their locked upstream packages. This is not a source build of Chromium. dev-vcs/twig-bin installs the completed upstream Linux release instead. Both packages install /usr/bin/twig and cannot be installed together. All npm archives are declared in SRC_URI and verified by the Gentoo Manifest. The offline installer also checks the integrity values in package-lock.json. Lifecycle scripts and automatic Electron downloads are disabled. The source ebuild supports USE=test for upstream lint and local Git fixture tests. The obsolete test of a missing private-monorepo installer is excluded; the other foundation checks remain enabled. Releases after 0.8.5 use FSL-1.1-ALv2. Review the installed LICENSE.md and NOTICE.md before accepting this license: it restricts competing commercial uses and grants Apache 2.0 rights two years after each version's release. Version 0.8.5 remains all-rights-reserved; the new license is not retroactive. Binary redistribution is restricted. Bundled dependencies retain their own license notices. Update through Portage, not the in-app updater introduced in 0.14.0. Upstream detects /opt installations as Debian packages and offers a .deb installer. Automatic update checks are opt-in; downloads require an explicit click. The launcher keeps upstream's isolated fontconfig cache, needed when the host fontconfig cache format is newer than the bundled Electron supports. Set TWIG_SYSTEM_FONTCONFIG=1 to opt out. Chromium's sandbox requires unprivileged user namespaces; the package does not install a setuid sandbox helper.
