Windscribe for Gentoo ==================== This package installs Windscribe's official prebuilt amd64 Debian release. It extracts the application files without running Debian maintainer scripts; the helper account, service definitions, and Gentoo update marker are managed by Portage. The privileged windscribe-helper service is required for VPN connections. The application's main executable runs with the windscribe group so it can communicate with that helper. Enable the service for your init system after installing the package: systemctl enable --now windscribe-helper rc-update add windscribe-helper default rc-service windscribe-helper start Use Portage to update the client: emerge --ask --oneshot net-vpn/windscribe-bin The package marks the platform as Gentoo so Windscribe's updater will refuse to install Debian, RPM, or Arch packages outside Portage.
