This package installs the official upstream Audacity 4 AppImage (Beta 2), which bundles Qt6, wxWidgets and the audio codec stack internally, extracting it to /opt and launching it through the bundled AppRun. A from-source build of Audacity 4 is not currently feasible in the Portage sandbox because the muse (MuseScore) submodule and several FetchContent dependencies are downloaded at configure time; the stable 3.7.x from-source series remains available as media-sound/audacity. audacity/audacity https://github.com/audacity/audacity/issues
