The tunnel is WireGuard carried over QUIC, with an nftables kill switch. This package installs upstream's prebuilt Debian binaries: the obscura CLI and its root service (the daemon behind "obscura service"), and, with USE=gui, the GTK4/WebKit desktop app. An OpenRC init script is always installed; the systemd unit is optional.
