    Kiro Crew - AWS's open-source (Apache-2.0, since 2026-08-04)
persistent AI agent workspace: an Electron desktop app plus a
bundled Python Gateway backend that keeps agent sessions running
across sessions, machines and events. This -bin package repackages
the official Linux AppImage from the kirodotdev/KiroCrew GitHub
releases: the AppDir is extracted at build time (no FUSE needed at
runtime) and installed under /opt/kirocrew, with the launcher
symlinked as /usr/bin/kirocrew-desktop and an XDG desktop entry +
icon for desktop integration. The gateway backend is bundled and
self-contained (no host Python); talking to the LLM uses kiro-cli
(dev-util/kiro-cli-bin) over the Agent Client Protocol, which the
app can install and sign in on first launch. Persistent state lives
    under ~/.kiro/crew/.

Full end-to-end verification (pkgcheck scan, pkgdev manifest,
emerge in a gentoo/stage3 container, and a headless smoke test) is
deferred to CI, matching the convention of the other prebuilt
    packages in this overlay.
